SeaTox Research Inc offers a competitive Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) that can detect domoic acid.  Domoic acid is produced by diatoms of Pseudo-nitzschia, and when these contaminate shellfish, the toxin can lead to life threatening Amnesic Shellfish Poisoning.

SeaTox Research Inc’s Saxitoxin / PSP Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) detects Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning toxins in a variety of samples.  PSP toxins contaminate shellfish worldwide and have debilitating effects on human health when consumed.  Our antibody binds saxitoxin and neo-saxitoxin with approximately equivalent affinity, and it can also detect GTX 1/4 and GTX 2/3 with an additional conversion step.  As such, our ELISA is able to detect the most toxic versions of PSP toxins with limited cross-reactivity with nontoxic versions.

Included in the package is a kit (24 samples) for the detection and quantitation of total Cyanobacteria using a 16s rRNA gene and a kit (24 samples) for the discrimination and quantitation of genes critical in the production of microcystin, cylindrospermospsin and Saxitoxin. A set of certified standards will be also included so one can fully analyse the presence of these genes in up to 18 environmental samples. Value $1900
